About Us
Sisonke Games is an annual event hosted in Mbizana, in the rural Eastern Cape, with the aim to bring communities together. With supporters travelling as far as around 60km to support or participate, the event has grown year after year. We now have more than 30 soccer teams participating, ten netball teams, and over 50 individuals participating in the fun runs. The local economy benefits as we also encourage small businesses to set up stalls.

The Foundation has partnered with community leaders and other local stakeholders as a way of cementing ongoing interaction within our communities. Everyone's input and contribution matters.

We encourage local vendors to set up stalls to sell fruits, refreshments and other snacks. By creating this opportunity, we are promoting economic empowerment as well as positive social change.

Youth Potential
The youth in rural areas experience extremely broken circumstances and are surrounded by numerous challenges that make it difficult for them to thrive. These adversities affect their ability to engage with the world, make healthy life choices and be successful. We are hoping through these games the youth will learn to to express their own personality and know what motivates them to do their best, develop into individuals who have a sense of purpose and contribute to the well-being of their greater community.
